Software Engineers (Jr. and Sr. Level)

TAF is looking for software engineers at the junior and senior level to work on a new AR project
based on Microsoft HoloLens 2 that will enable remote maintenance and training. This project
will include the following key skills:
? C# & Microsoft Mixed Reality Toolkit
? Unity Engine
? Python 3
? Embedded C
TAF anticipates hires in the following roles:
? Embedded Development — This role will focus on connecting real-world hardware to
an AR environment, developing the hardware and software needed to bridge existing
devices with an AR platform. Experience with embedded C, embedded Python, and
other similar experience is a plus. Experience with USB, “weird” serial standards, sensor
interfaces, embedded TCP/IP networking, and related areas is a plus.
? Hololens Development (Unity, C#) — This role will focus on implementing in-device UI
and creating a highly intuitive user experience. While Hololens AR experience is a plus,
any experience with Unity can translate well into this role. AR or VR UI experience is a
plus. This role requires a strong focus on shipping usable product and a Lean
startup/MVP-driven mentality.
? Backend & Full Stack (Python, possibly some JS) — This role will focus on creating the
backend platform to connect the dots between the embedded hardware and the
hormones UI, as well as the management, administration, and mentor/supervisor
interfaces required. Experience with Python, Flask, Azure, and Microsoft Dynamics 365
is a plus.

UI/UX experience with AR or HoloLens experience a plus for all roles.
You will work on a small distributed team led by TAF’s Principal Investigator for this project, who
reports directly to TAF’s President. This project is focused on rapid (4 months) delivery of a
MVP followed by tech demonstrations and prototype fielding within 12 months.

A 4-year degree in a related field is required, but TAF may consider candidates with substantial
closely related experience in lieu of a degree. Specific experience with the platforms mentioned
is a strong plus. TAF is located in Richmond, Virginia, but these positions are 100% remote.
TAF has received a notice of award, but the contract is not finalized, so this position is
contingent upon final contract award. These positions are primarily full-time, but both full time
and part time roles are available at each of these levels for compelling candidates with specific
experience in these areas.

The ability to obtain a security clearance or a current clearance is a plus, but is not required.

Pay will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Group Healthcare, Vision, and
Dental are available to full-time employees. 10 days paid holidays and 2 weeks PTO your first
year for full-time employees.
