The Spring issue of The Oakleaf is available online now!

This is our largest issue yet—full of member contributions—including recent news, sea stories and Committee updates. Our cover stories highlight how important our members are to the Foundation's mission and the Supply Corps Community, as we say farewell to retiring Vice Chair RADM (ret) Linda Bird and thank her for more than a decade of outstanding leadership on the Board, and thank our many generous donors for your faithful contributions to the Foundation during the challenging year of 2020.

On page 6, Foundation Secretary CDR Marcus Thomas reports on our recent webinar "An Evening with the Chief", where Guest Speaker RADM Pete Stamatopoulos, Commander of NAVSUP and 49th Chief of Supply Corps, spoke to more than 400 members about the priorities of today's Supply Corps and his vision for the future. And later in the issue, LCDR Keith Darby shares how his team navigated COVID-19 protocol while supporting the 59th Presidential Inauguration.

We also dive deep into the history of the Oak Leaf collar insignia with CAPT (ret) Donald B. Hoffmann, welcome our newest Distinguished Alumnus J. Ronald Terwilliger, and learn the full story of Doris "Dorie" Miller—who was not a cook but an "Officer's Mess Attendant"—from RADM (ret) Dan McKinnon's extensive article on the "Lion of the Sea". And, on pages 10 and 25, two Supply Corps Spouses discuss how our families are thriving with a positive attitude and Community support!

Every Foundation newsletter aims to bring our Community together through sharing our members' experiences of yesterday and today. Would you like to contribute?
