Message From the President

Greetings NSCF,

Please join me in welcoming our two newest staff members, LT Jessica Vaeth (Secretary), LTJG Kellie Mongillo (Webmaster), and LEUT Hayden Surrao (Fundraiser Coordinator). All members have hit the deck running and are committed to enhancing our organization.

I attended a promising meeting with the Jacksonville Historic Naval Ship Association (JHNSA). The JHNSA is working hard to get the warship moved to USS Charles F. Adams (DDG-2) relocated from Philadelphia Naval Shipyard to Jacksonville, FL. The destroyer was homeported in Mayport, FL from 1969 to 1990. The Adams’ return promises to be a giant step in enriching our already deep naval history in the Jacksonville area.

CALL TO ACTION

Your area chapter needs you! Planning for the 2019 Supply Corps Ball in underway. The planning committee is actively seeking members to coordinate this year’s event. Please consider being a part and contributing to another memorable celebration.

The Navy Supply Corps Foundation is a non-profit professional and social organization. As such we look for fundraising ideas to generate revenue. There has been much interest in increasing our contributions to the Foundation scholarship program as well as continuing to promote "esprit de corps" and camaraderie within our Supply Corps community by hosting more outings and meet and greet functions. Contact the secretary or Fundraiser Coordinator for opportunities to participate.

Upcoming Golf Tournament: Unfortunately, we have to postpone the September 28th golf tournament due to scheduling conflicts. Our team is researching alternative dates and will update the website soonest.

If you are interested in getting more involved, please reach out!

Stay safe....and stay involved.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Greetings Jacksonville NSCF!

The torch as Chapter President has been passed to me and it is my honor to serve you. Looking forward to the upcoming year, we aim to maintain our goal of engaging members in professional development, community service, and social interaction.  As new Chops enter our area, we welcome fresh ideas on potential events and how we can make our foundation the benchmark for others to emulate.

We had a phenomenal professional development event with Maxwell House. The tour included an in-depth review of the company's warehousing, and supply chain management operations. Stand by for upcoming similar opportunities. Contact any of the Foundation leadership if you have questions.

We have an opportunity to work with the Jacksonville Jaguars and TIAA Bank Field during home games providing services in the Bud Zone. Each event will bring the foundation a minimum of nine hundred dollars and potentially more based on net profits for the stadium that day.  However, this requires a commitment of a minimum of 12 members per event. Therefore, before undergoing such an obligation, I would love to hear from you and know we have enough interested volunteers to support.

USS ADAMS (DDG 2)

The USS ADAMS (DDG 2) should arrive this spring and moor on the North Bank of Saint Johns River in downtown Jacksonville. The foundation is tied in with the USS ADAMS museum and the plan is to sponsor the Wardroom on the ship. Much more to follow on this exciting opportunity.
